On Purpose Psyche is committed to providing affirmative therapy to all clients, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Our approach to therapy is one that embraces a positive view of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) identities and relationships while addressing the negative impact of homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism on LGBTQ lives. Our clinicians acknowledge the bias inherent in a heteronormative and gender-binaristic society and are familiar with the challenges faced by LGBTQ individuals. Individual clients and their families are affirmed and supported, whether they wish to address issues specific to their LBGTQ identity or simply seek an accepting environment where they can focus on other needs. On Purpose Psyche clinicians are also committed to helping individuals focus on issues specific to LGBTQ individuals such as coming out, disruption in family relationships, and the loss or re-imagining of their religious identity.
